Flesherton Minor Hockey will be hosting the youth dances (grades 3-8) as a fundraiser for the organization. Each team will take a turn chaperoning the dances, please contact your manager for details.

Flesherton Golden Hawks Atoms took the Glen Ure Memorial Silver trophy in the OMHA DD Division. The Hawks battled hard against a team from the city. It was an incredible fast pace series on both sides. Plattsville won game one at home, then Flesherton won game two at home. For game three at Plattsville, they had an on the edge of your seat game with Plattsville pulling their goalie and Flesherton having a penalty. It was a 6 on 4 and Plattsville ended up tying it up in the last 2 minutes of the third period. The hawks fought hard, but lost in overtime. Game four Flesherton still fought a hard battle, but lost the gold. A well deserved standing ovation from our Flesherton fans, parents, and peers, was the almost perfect ending to an amazing year!

With a lot of heart and determination our Atom Rep had one incredible year. They were the top of their points during the regular season never losing a game. With 8 shutouts, 159 goals for and only 25 goals against our Atom Reps are a team to be proud of.

Flesherton Tyke 1 played an exhibition game, Saturday March 2, against Shelburne. It was an exciting back and forth game until the end of the 3rd period when Shelburne pulled ahead with a final score of 5-2. The Flesherton Tyke teams played their final games of the season, against one another, Wednesday March 6, at 6:00.

The Golden Hawks recently travelled to Wasaga Beach for the Regional Silver Stick tournament.

They lost their first game 3-1 to Mariposa, and then rebounded to beat Blind River 3-1, and then took down Mildmay 3-1 to advance to the finals against St. George. It was a hard fought game that ended at 2-2. 10 minutes of overtime solved nothing, and the game moved to a shootout, which St. George ended up winning. It was a great tournament, the kids showed a lot of character.

The Pee Wees also just finished their regular season and earned 1st place with a record of 15 wins, 3 losses, and 2 ties. Best of luck to the Pee Wees as they will be starting OMHA & League Playoffs in mid-January.

The Flesherton Golden Hawks Bantam Rep Team took part in the Wasaga Beach Silver Stick Tournament, Dec. 27,28,29 2012. They played a total of 5 hard fought games.

Thursday Morning they played Mariposa with a win of 5 - 3. Friday morning they played Weinfleet with a win of 4 - 1. Both games were played in the Stayner Arena. Friday afternoon the team played Shelburne in Wasaga Beach and lost a tough game 4 - 0. This put the team into the Semi-Finals on Saturday Morning. Again they played Mariposa for a win of 4 - 0, putting them in the Championship game vs Shelburne. A Great game was played, but lost to Shelburne 2 - 0.

Congratulations to the Players and Coaching Staff for a well played Tournament and being the Finalist!!

On Saturday December 1 Atom Local League put a float in the Markdale Santa Claus Parade. With all their hard work
and fun doing it they managed to place 3rd. Congratulations team and parents (who did alot of the work decorating)

Nov 17, 2012– The Pee Wee Rep team traveled to Arthur for a tournament. They won Game one against New Hamburg 1–0, and then they beat Orangeville 2–0 in another hard fought game to move to the finals against Drayton. The team was trailing 3-1 going into the third, and showed a lot of character coming back to tie the game 3-3 and force overtime. Overtime was 4 on 4 for 2 minutes, then 3 on 3 for two minutes, and then 2 on 2 for 2 minutes. Although lots of chances against the Drayton goalie, we couldn’t put one home, and Devo shut the door at our end and overtime solved nothing. We then moved to a shootout, and after 3 shooters, Drayton had scored twice and Flesherton once. It was a great game by both teams.

On Sunday November 25th, the Flesherton Minor Hockey Bantam LL Team participated in Walkerton’s Rob Cook Memorial Bantam Tournament, an event in its 22nd year!

The day started relatively early with the first game a success positioning Flesherton in the “A” pool. The game was 2-2 until the last 6.5 minutes when Flesherton scored 4 goals to finish with a 6-2 victory over Kincardine.

The second game was a 7-1 sweep against Saugeen Shores putting Flesherton into the Championship game.

The final game was a nail bitter, but Flesherton pulled off a 3-2 win against East Gwillimbury for the Championship title! It was a clean, well-played game by both teams. In fact, the East Gwillimbury coaches and players formally praised the Flesherton team for their respectable conduct and sportsmanship. Nicely done Team!

Hello Beth/Derek,

My name is John Mulholland and represent East Gwillimbury Minor Hockey Assoc. I wanted to extend an email to both of you regarding the Walkerton Tournament that took place on Sunday Nov 25 2012.

As part of the Coaching Staff (Trainer) I would like to Congratulate your Bantam LL Team for a hard fought battle in yesterday's Finals. The most compelling part of the win was the fashion in which your players demonstrated before, during and after the final game. What a great group of boys…….very respectful, courteous and well mannered. You know the little things that happen, that most of us don’t notice or care about ? Well I can tell you I saw a few examples that were on display, such as EVERY player on your Bantam team removing their gloves to shake hands with our staff at the beginning of the game (very classy), shaking hands individually with our player during the closing ceremony(sportsmanship). My son Ryley mentioned that in between games he struck up a conversation with a few of the Flesherton players and he mentioned that they were "nice kids" and liked the fact that they were approachable in a foreign arena to talk about hockey.

We coach in the same manner as your Bantam Coach's, respect your opponent, each other, the refs and the Coaching Staff.

Your Bantam Players exemplified how a team should conduct themselves and how to represent Flesherton while visiting these different centers. As far as I'm concerned and it's a consensus from our coaching staff and parents, your players conduct is a direct result of the Coaching staff.

We feel that this should NOT go unnoticed by your Association and that you should all be very proud of that group of boys !!!

We would love to put together a home and home mini-series with the Flesherton Bantam LL in the coming months.

Again Congratulations Golden Hawks on a Fantastic showing in Walkerton !

The Flesherton Atom Rep came in second at the Rob Johnston Memorial Tournament in Paris, Ontario November 2 -4. Our Atoms started the tournament Friday night against the Ripley Wolves and won 4-1. Double goal by Tori Verbeek and singles by Matthew Grootendorst and Travis Verbeek.

Saturday morning Atoms had a 5-2 victory against Wallaceburg. Hat trick by Travis Verbeek and singles by Matthew Grootendorst and Drew Wakeham. In the afternoon Flesherton played hard but fell 2-1 to Ingersol. Lone goal scored by Matthew Grootendorst.

Semi Finals Sunday morning, Flesherton was against the Paris home team. The Atoms triumph with a 5-0 win. Shut out by Aeson Uhrig. Double goal by Tori Verbeek, and singles by Drew Wakeham, Travis Verbeek, and Casey Mann.
Championship Final was against our Ingersol rivals from the previous game. Flesherton was hoping to take the win but fell 2-1. Lone goal scored by Isaac Lehman. Both teams were extremely strong and lots of shots on both nets.

Excellent weekend for our Atom Rep team! Incredible coaching staff, players and goaltending. Awesome job everyone!

Flesherton Golden Hawks Atom Rep team won their first tournament of the season in Arthur on Sunday October 14th 2012.

The Golden Hawks opened the tournament with a win against the Arthur Vipers 8-0. Recorded shutout was Aeson Uhrig. Hat trick by Tori Verbeek, double by Casey Mann and singles by Drew Wakeham, Clark Hammer and Travis Verbeek.

The Hawks took their second win against the TCDMHA Rebels 6-2. Four goals by Travis Verbeek, singles by Casey Mann and Clark Hammer.

The Championship final game against the Thamesford Attack was a victory of 6-3. Second hat trick of the day for Travis Verbeek, singles by Matt Grootendorst, Casey Mann and Tori Verbeek. Way to go Atom Rep team!!
